Pickleball in Foley, Minnesota
Foley does not currently publish a dedicated public pickleball court or recurring local open play schedule. Lion's Park has tennis courts, but it is not established as a dependable pickleball venue. Where to Play Pickleball in Foley
- Lion's Park, 323 Oak Drive: The park has tennis and basketball courts, a playground, softball field, seasonal skating rink, and a reservable shelter. Pickleball lines, nets, and organized play are not published, so it should not be treated as a reliable pickleball destination. Lion's Park details
- Whitney Recreation Center, 1529 Northway Drive, St. Cloud: Six indoor pickleball courts offer public play Monday through Friday from 7 AM to noon and Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM. Admission is $3.25, and a 20 visit punch pass costs $50. St. Cloud pickleball
- Calvary Hill Park and Whitney Sports Complex, St. Cloud: Both outdoor locations are free and open daily from 8 AM to dusk, generally from mid April through mid October when weather allows. These courts suit players bringing partners or a small group.
Getting Started
St. Cloud offers beginner instruction at Whitney Recreation Center. Classes cover ball control, forehand and backhand drives, serves, lobs, smashes, rules, and game strategy. The $35 class is a useful structured start when a session is offered.
Players who want instruction closer to Foley can use the Coaches section. After learning the basics, weekday morning play at Whitney gives a beginner regular court time and access to a larger player pool.
Open Play and Events
Whitney Recreation Center provides the most consistent nearby open play, with weekday mornings and a Wednesday evening block. Six indoor courts give players arriving alone a much better chance of joining games than an improvised local setup.
St. Cloud also runs ladder leagues when scheduled, separating beginner and intermediate players and giving each participant several short games. Foley does not have a current recurring pickleball event calendar, so local players use the St. Cloud program for organized play.
Visiting Foley
A visitor who wants a reliable game should plan around Whitney Recreation Center. The $3.25 daily admission, six courts, and weekday morning schedule make it the simplest option for a solo player. Wednesday evening play is useful for travelers occupied during the day.
Visitors with partners can choose the free outdoor courts at Calvary Hill Park or Whitney Sports Complex from spring through fall. Bring paddles and balls, and use the indoor recreation center when weather or daylight makes outdoor play impractical.
